Dr. Imbriglia is Chairman of the Board of the Hand & Shoulder Center and is the most senior staff member. After graduating from Hahnemann Medical College in 1970, he completed his Orthopaedic Residency in 1975 and Hand Fellowship training in 1976 at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Imbriglia has been a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 2001, where he served as the Director of the Hand Fellowship Program from 2002 to 2014. From 1983 to 2000, Dr. Imbriglia was the Director of the Hand Fellowship Program at Allegheny General Hospital.
In 1993, Dr. Imbriglia served as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery. In 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008, he was voted one of the "Top Docs in Pittsburgh" in Pittsburgh Magazine. He has been listed several times in the issues of Best Doctors in America. He previously held the position of Chairman of the Board at the Children’s Institute in Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2011.
Dr. Imbriglia is on the medical staff at UPMC Passavant/Cranberry, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC St. Margaret, AHN Wexford, and he is also on staff at Western PA Surgery Center.
